Can those people who have purchased this item help me out? There appear to be three different stands under this heading of Bush Universal Stand. One large, one round and one small. Which one is getting the generally good reviews?

yes it’s a good sturdy stand and nice looking but definitely not worth the $275 price tag just for 3 pieces of glass and some metal pieces. easy to put together.

This is a great stand for our 60″ Sharp Aquos. It really looks classy with the glossy black glass shelves and all black frame. The unit feels very sturdy and has 2 cable management channels in the back to help keep everything nice and tidy.

The main reason I am giving this product a 4-star rating is because it arrived with a damaged component in the box, as well as an incorrect part. This required me to contact the manufacturer and wait an additional week before I could even think about unboxing my brand new LCD. To better explain, there are 2 parts of the frame, the large U-shaped pieces that form the bulk of the shelves that are similar to each other, but one of them you install a rod across the middle the other you don’t. In the box I got 2 of the plain U-shaped piece. Thus I was stymied at step 2 when the instructions would have you connect this rod into one of the shelving pieces. To add insult to injury, the rod I was supposed to install had a pretty badly bent flange so it probably wouldn’t have installed well regardless if I had the right part or not.

On a bright note, after spending almost 10 minutes on hold with the manufacturer, I can say they are very easy to deal with. I was off the phone with the rep in less than 5 minutes and had the 2 parts being shipped my way at no additional cost.

Assembly was a fairly easy hour of work to do by myself. The only complaint I had with the assembly is I had to do some real prying to get the 3 shelves to line up properly with the back cable management / support structure. For a couple minutes I panicked a bit thinking I had been sent the wrong parts. It seemed that the back support pieces were too tall for this unit as none of the bolt holes seemed to line up properly. But with some brute force prying I was able to get all the bolt holes to actually line up after all. But a word of warning, it may initially look like you are well over a full inch off when you go to assemble this. You will basically want to just barely get the top bolts started and then move to the middle shelves and do the same and finally the top. With a good deal of push along the way. This step would have been beneficial to have had an extra pair of hands to help out. DO NOT tighten bolts down until you are sure everything lines up.

All in all, I am very pleased with the shelf. Just want to give everyone a bit of warning so you check the big parts when you open the box. I went through and counted all the bolts and such and just gave the large parts a cursory glance. Never expected to have a problem with those. In the end, it all worked out and I would definitely recommend this stand. Great price and great looks. Easy assembly for the most part and good customer service.

I went to ~8 different stores looking for the right TV stand. I narrowed it down to the Bush 50″ stand and higher-end models from BDI and Bell’o. I bought the Bush unit – VS74952 from Best Buy (it’s 50″ wide, not the VS74950 48″-wide TV stand here on Amazon). Even though I liked the looks of the BDI and Bell’o units a little more, the Bush TV stand is also very attractive and it’s glossy black finish blends in very well with my black TV and my black speakers on each side. I needed to fit a 7.5″ tall center channel speaker on the middle shelf and electronic equipment 7.5″ high. I found that it would have been a very tight squeeze into the BDI and Bell’o TV stands (they only provide 6.5″ openings into the shelves) so equipment would have to be loaded from the top and there wouldn’t be good clearance for sound and IR remote access.

The Bush TV stand is very sturdy, has good instructions for assembly, and has a good cable management system. Even the box and styrofoam that the Bush TV stand comes in is well designed. I paid $270 + tax at Best Buy – this unit is a great value and is the best deal that I found. I’m very happy with it.
